There's even an American movie on a similar theme. Where a guy fell in love, after being influenced, with an ugly, overweight woman because he saw her soul, not her physical appearance. But here, it turns out, a partner is just for having children. So, Fry could keep her somewhere in a basement to bear his offspring, and he would raise them with a beautiful woman he marries. Because, apparently, the main thing is beauty and a slim figure.
