Abstract of the book "The West African Game"
Principles and convictions are unwelcome at home, but Valentyn Talan found his place in an exotic African nation. This high-ranking police officer is feared by criminals, valued by superiors, respected by subordinates, and befriended by the country's ruler. Even his son seems to have found his calling and love. The nation itself is thriving, astonishing all with its dynamic growth. But a mysterious and brutal murder threatens everything. Having endured so much, Valentyn is perhaps the only one who can avert catastrophe. Yet, simply finding and punishing the culprits isn't enough. He must walk a tightrope, avoiding accusations of corruption and abuse himself, all while preventing a civil war...

natalia-sikora16.01.2021, 16:14Super interesting plot! Very intriguing views on society, principles, and so on. At the end, I expected them to be blown up or for a sniper to hit the target. But a happy ending is also great! Though the conditions in the prison and hard labor... that's just brutal... I'm all for humanity in everything and towards everyone. Though maybe I'm wrong about that.
nikolai-gavris22.04.2020, 19:40Forced to split my comment into two parts for technical reasons, continuation: The way the author described how elections are held in a country where a homeless person and an alcoholic have much less weight in their vote compared to a person who has spent their whole life achieving a high status in society is worth a lot. First, they studied hard, then worked tirelessly to become rich and successful. I’m curious, why hasn’t any country in the world conducted such an experiment in elections? In my opinion, it’s so simple, and I’m almost certain that the result would be as described in the book. And I can’t help but mention the author’s phrase: "Socialism is for the people...." For those who haven’t read it yet—read it, you won’t regret it! I eagerly await something similar from the author in the future. It would be great if it comes out soon.
nikolai-gavris22.04.2020, 19:35Over my now long life, I have read a great deal of fiction across various genres. I have also read many quality books by detective genre writers such as the Vainer brothers, Yulian Semyonov, Conan Doyle, Georges Simenon, Agatha Christie, and many others. Why did I mention these world-famous writers? Because, in my literary taste, there is no significant difference between the aforementioned masters of the detective genre and the just-starting writer Vadym Volodarsky, in my opinion. You’re simply amazed at how the author manages to do it. Almost every sentence of the author carries some subtext, some double meaning that you need to be able to discern—and that, in my view, is very interesting for the reader. Besides the direct content, there is often a hidden one, sometimes very deep and with a philosophical undertone—and sometimes entire paragraphs are filled with profound philosophical meaning. At the very least, that’s how I see it. I hope that not only I, but other readers as well, are able to notice this. I am delighted by some of the author’s discoveries!
oksana-usenko21.04.2020, 21:12An interesting idea for building a society. Good plot, nice ending. For me, even too nice, I was expecting some surprise until the very end :). Thank you for the book.
oksana-usenko20.04.2020, 23:20Hmm, it seemed more logical to me that the son, not the father, would notice the lack of time in the system. After all, he’s supposed to be the expert in this field.
nikolai-gavris16.04.2020, 16:08I've only read three chapters of the book and couldn't resist expressing my gratitude to the author. What an incredibly interesting and captivating plot! I'm reading on with curiosity and enjoyment.
orest-varanytsia13.04.2020, 19:49Congratulations to the Author. I am sincerely impressed and captivated by the realism, dynamics, and intrigues of the work. Looking forward to more surprises. And the continuation! ))) Christ is Risen! Happy upcoming Holidays!
