What captivated me most in this story is the strong, truly commanding Lady Mara, also known as the Bloody Queen with her trained army of loyal thugs. She is cold, rage, the passion of life and death in one face. It’s impossible not to love such a woman, and it’s impossible not to hate such a vixen. And what’s stopping you from doing both at the same time? Well, nothing stopped our main hero, Rein — the Lord-Commander, a mercenary, a born killer, and just a sexy man, completely to my taste, from falling for power and the beautiful Mara. But they took a very long and intense path to this love. Of course, besides the main romantic-erotic storyline, there’s a lot more interesting stuff typical of great fantasy: intrigues, revenge, epic battles — and not just between humans, there are real monsters too. A perfect, delicious cocktail of revenge, intrigue, and 18+ passion that you definitely haven’t read before. I absolutely recommend it to fans of fantasy with a sharp plot and strong characters!
