Overall, when there are so many novels that literally promote abusive relationships (because they feature passion and emotional rollercoasters, followed by strange, unrealistic harmony), this one is the opposite—a "healthy person's novel" about the need to not bend, not lose your character due to feelings, but to remain yourself and respect that in your partner. That's cool!
