Abstract of the book "The Necromancer’s Curse"
A risky experiment robbed Surtaz of any chance at a future worthy of his talents. Once one of the top graduates of the magical academy, he miraculously survived, was accused of necromancy, and narrowly escaped execution—only to be cast into exile. Thus began Surtaz’s journey down a path toward a great destiny, shaped by another’s will and the blood of distant ancestors.

olena04.05.2025, 14:11Thank you! It was quite unusual and interesting to get to know Surtaz and his story!
anna-alais04.05.2025, 20:37Olena, Thank you for paying attention to this story :)
valerii09.03.2025, 00:22Quite an interesting book, lately it's been hard to read or watch anything, it just doesn't click. This book started off a bit chaotic, but later there was more development of events, stability, although at some point the switches between characters became unexpected, but I got used to it. The ending is interesting, specific, I wouldn't say the main characters were clueless, rather they chose such a path, at first there was surprise: why leave emptiness behind, but I understood the logic, even if I don't support it. Hmm, Lich is on an internship, and the book cover looks familiar, let's continue. Thank you! P.S. Unexpectedly large book, especially considering it's also free. At some point, I started falling into a dilemma, I want it to end already, but it's well-written, and I want a continuation. So, I'm for a continuation!)
anna-alais09.03.2025, 11:56Valerii, Thank you! :) Considering that you now know Surtaz's backstory, some of his decisions and actions might seem a bit different, perhaps))
oceret20.02.2025, 16:22Congratulations on the completion. I'm glad that the necromantic business is steadily alive and thriving)) By the way, I have quite an interesting story with your books. Back at the beginning of 2023, I started reading "Outstanding Personality" (still on the old page). Then - military service, and for a while, there was no time for books. Later, when I had time again, I returned here - and it was gone! And, as luck would have it, I forgot the titles) Luckily, I thought to search "Sur taz's bones" on Google, and the first link led me to your new page. Proof that he helps mortals even in our world xDDD I hope we'll see something in the "classic dark style" again. And maybe, a miracle will happen, and Morty will return to us after all ;)
anna-alais20.02.2025, 23:33Reed, /that feeling when you subscribed to an author because you were intrigued by the ideas of some of their works, so you planned to read them later, and it turns out the author is your reader O_o/ I don’t even know what to say... It’s pleasant, incredibly so)) Yes, that "move" turned out to be quite an unpleasant surprise, including for me (but what can you do, I should have read the rules more carefully). And it’s all the more pleasant that this exclamation-expression still helped to find a way through the vastness of the Internet)) It’s all up to Surtaz :-D Actually, I’m currently heavily leaning towards Morti, planning to resume its publication, and after that, most likely, Surtaz’s story will continue in the third world. And after that - there are countless plans... Traditionally - about life, undead, and necromancers)) All that’s left is a small thing - to write it all :-D And I want to wish you inspiration in your creativity and beyond, and take care of yourself))
andrei-bazarnyi19.02.2025, 22:07I’ve finished reading! My impressions? I don’t know what to say. I was completely immersed in the characters’ affairs, learning, growing, overcoming difficulties and magical hunger, and then... Whoosh. Ashes. Dust. It’s like I drank a delicious, multifaceted cocktail with a barely noticeable bitterness in the aftertaste. Why did they have to die, why the unnecessary sacrifices... At the same time, I don’t consider the fallen necromancers as completely dead :) There’s a chance they turned into spirits, just as Ald did back in the day. A very interesting experience from the source’s perspective, the time-lapses in my head, and regurgitating excess mana - that’s top-notch :) It somewhat reminded me of the trembling islands :) Wow... There’s a lot to think about. An intriguing ending. Intriguing thoughts. Intriguing aftertaste. Now I want to dive even more into the atmosphere of the three houses during the times described in the liches’ memories. Looks like I’m picking up Shiz from the bookshelf next :)
anna-alais19.02.2025, 23:33Andriy Bazarniy, if there’s something left to think about, then the book wasn’t written in vain)) I’m glad you liked it. And indeed, it’s a reason to reread the indirect continuation in the form of the "Outstanding Personality" cycle - now that the rather... specific personality of Surtaz has become a bit clearer. And then, someday, his story will develop further - with a look into the past and hope for the future)
yarik-yarik19.02.2025, 11:44As always, unlike anything else ))) everything is clear and captivating!!! Sitting (lying, etc.) until 2-3 a.m. because you want to finish reading?
anna-alais19.02.2025, 12:21Yarik Yarik, ...and then you have funny dreams :-D I'm very glad you liked the book)))
oleksii18.02.2025, 12:17Hmm..., and the Body was from a flagellant-masochist)))
anna-alais18.02.2025, 13:39Oleksiy, Well... objectively, Guntad wasn't a flagellant, but masochistic tendencies are, in one way or another, inherent to all inquisitors, right :-D
andrii-banias17.02.2025, 16:58Simply wonderful! A big thank you to the author for the work) It's unlikely to happen, but I would love to read a prequel - the story of the first Shallastkhadar. And also a continuation of Surtaz's adventures) Nevertheless, I wish the author success in creativity, inspiration, and endless imagination)
anna-alais18.02.2025, 00:32Andriy Banyas, I'm also tired of necromancers always being either antagonists (there are even cool ones, but they ultimately lose), or these pitiful sufferers like "nobody loves me, nobody cares for me." And if there are any normal ones, the books about them can be counted on the fingers of one hand. So, I found myself in a situation that many of my colleagues have faced: if you want something and it doesn't exist—write it yourself. So, I'm writing, considering that the undead have been my factional love for over twenty years, ever since I was introduced in my youth to such a colorful character as Sandro from the HoMM series.
andy-friday17.02.2025, 13:41Yay! I finished reading! It was a long and exciting journey, for which I am very grateful. I call such books spectacular, no matter how absurd that may sound - you read and it feels like watching a cool movie. A real gem for people with imagination. There’s everything and everyone here, and it doesn’t feel like "stuffed with everything just for the sake of it," everything is appropriate, everyone is in their place. What I liked most was how the plot develops, the further you go, the more interesting it gets, without sagging even a bit. Even though I caught a spoiler and knew how "The Curse of the Necromancer" would end, it was still interesting to read until the very end. I don’t like reading in electronic format, but here I didn’t just swallow the book, I read it slowly due to a lack of free time, yet it grabbed me right away and didn’t let go until the last page, forcing me to sacrifice sleep towards the end :). In short, I finally found something to my taste. Beautiful language, I wouldn’t even say it’s a translation. It would be great if Inna voiced it.
anna-alais17.02.2025, 16:01Andy Friday, Thank you for the detailed feedback)) I'm very glad you liked the book ^_^ Inna seems to be planning to record it, but if that happens, it will be only after completing the "Outstanding Personality" series, so in about a year or a year and a half at best :-D
andy-friday16.02.2025, 15:28Finished reading up to the chapter "Lesson from the Master of Pain". Shid-Attar is in his element :). I can imagine him so vividly! If this were a movie, Shid would have to be played by a very talented actor.
anna-alais16.02.2025, 18:02Andy Friday, Oh, yes. Not everyone can accurately depict his transitions from a charismatic, sharp-witted fool to a cold and ruthless executioner and killer))
grigorii-gordiniak14.02.2025, 22:00Thank you for the interesting story))
anna-alais14.02.2025, 22:30Grigoriy Gordynyak, Thank you for reading it ^_^ I'm glad you liked it!
grigorii-gordiniak14.02.2025, 21:35One can only envy your productivity
anna-alais14.02.2025, 21:54Grigoriy Gordynyak, This was a translation, it goes easier) Writing is much harder and takes longer...
dark-knight14.02.2025, 14:53Thank you very much for the fascinating backstory of a very colorful character)
anna-alais14.02.2025, 17:00Dark Knight, ^_^ Glad you liked it!
nusik-leshhenko14.02.2025, 13:26Ahhh, damn. What an incredibly interesting book has come to an end! But there are still 9 more ahead! Yippee! Surtaz rightly cursed that world; there's nothing good there, just tyranny, so let it turn to ashes!
anna-alais14.02.2025, 14:49Nusik Leshchenko, Yes, 9 more books, but they are different. However, this is for the better, as such concentrated dark fantasy is not to everyone's taste))
vitalina-mazurenko14.02.2025, 12:16Alais, thank you for the interesting story. I really liked the book, even though it ended on a sad note. Everyone got so caught up in the fight that they forgot about the world and the people.
anna-alais14.02.2025, 12:18Vitalina Mazurenko, Classic dark fantasy as it is)) There are no purely good or purely bad characters, everything is bad and it will only get worse :-D Glad you liked the book ^_^
olenka14.02.2025, 11:16God, I'm going to cry now... Such an ending to the story. It's a pity that such deranged people came to power there. It seems to me that even if it hadn't ended the way it did, sooner or later the imperials would have destroyed themselves, and with it, their world.
anna-alais14.02.2025, 11:30Olenka, it's not ruled out. Just as it's not ruled out if the other side had won)) After all, it has already happened))
