“I’m not what you need, Mia,” his voice is cold. “How could you possibly know what I need, Adam?” I shoot back, forcing bravery into my tone, though the truth is, I’m trembling under his gaze. “Looking for revenge on your ex?” His eyes narrow. “And if I am? Do you really care who I sleep with?” A dangerous spark flares in his dark eyes. In just two strides, he closes the space between us, making me stumble backward. His broad hand wraps around my throat, gripping firmly. “You’ll burn in this,” he breathes, his warm breath laced with the bitter edge of tobacco as it skims my skin. A tight, treacherous knot coils low in my stomach. I press my thighs together, cursing the way my body reacts to this man. “You’ll fall in love—and burn. I won’t love you back,” his tone is flat, unyielding.

At over 20 years old, having only one acquaintance? That’s not normal. Moreover, she’s afraid to ask for help even from her parents and doesn’t know how to accept it. Absolute social phobia. And leaving someone else’s apartment without warning the owners, like a thief, is wild.)) She absolutely doesn’t know how to interact with others and society.
