Abstract of the book "Shadow in the Crown"
In the capital, a killer roams free — one whose gruesome signature leaves the city’s residents trembling in fear. Prince Kairan, after receiving a mysterious message, finds himself drawn into a deadly game that will change his life forever. Forced to ally with Nionel, a sharp-minded detective with whom he instantly clashes, Kairan must uncover the truth behind a string of murders and the dark magic threatening not only the capital but the entire kingdom. As they chase the truth, both discover that the darkest secrets may dwell within their own hearts. Can their mutual disdain turn into an alliance strong enough to confront the Shadow in the Crown? And will they find themselves before their enemy destroys everything they hold dear?

irina-velicko10.03.2025, 07:36I wanted to read a slightly different ending. I wanted to read his confession of love. More than just his last words. But then it wouldn’t be a detective story, but an ordinary love story. And that’s a slightly different genre. Regarding the book and the plot itself. As always, everything is great!!! I really liked it!!! Very much!!! It was hard to tear myself away from reading!!! So I will eagerly await new detective stories!!!
alina-skintei12.03.2025, 08:59Iryna Velychko, I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for the feedback and the kind words.
irina-velicko08.03.2025, 14:43Well, even with my schedule planned almost to the minute, 5 chapters went down magically with a cup of coffee. Impressive! Truly impressive!!! With you, I’ll even come to love reading detective stories!!! Thank you!!!
alina-skintei09.03.2025, 20:38Iryna Velychko, Oh, very nice))) I also love reading and writing over coffee)
irina-velicko07.03.2025, 19:19So, here's my next "victim." I mean the book, just to clarify :) Although, with your talent as a writer, usually the "victim" is me, not the books. Because I can't tear myself away until I've read it all :) Especially since the beginning promises an exciting adventure. A very exciting one.
alina-skintei07.03.2025, 21:54Iryna Velychko, Reading your comments is a true pleasure! Honestly! Thank you! I hope you’ll like the story)))
iulia05.03.2025, 22:57Thank you, great story. I didn’t expect it to be Him. Good thing Kairan turned out to be exactly what was needed. The union happened a bit quickly. It feels like it was more out of duty to stop the monster rather than the relationship between the characters. Nevertheless—thank you, wishing you inspiration, keep creating ;)
alina-skintei05.03.2025, 23:09Yulia, It was duty that drove the prince, but now they have a whole lifetime to enjoy their relationship)) Thank you for your time!
oksana-kazimirova11.02.2025, 22:33Bravo to a wonderful book. Thank you to the author, inspiration, and peaceful skies.
alina-skintei11.02.2025, 22:57Oksana Kazymyrova, Thank you very much! Likewise!
oksana-gnatenko08.01.2025, 21:21Hello! I had to read your book until 2 a.m., it just wouldn’t let me go! It has everything I love, and in just the right amount. Wonderful humor, self-irony, well-developed secondary characters, a commanding prince, an intriguing conflict, and a detective storyline throughout the book—I was in a fog until the very last chapter. What I particularly liked about this book is the strong focus and significant amount of text dedicated to character interactions. For me, there wasn’t anything unnecessary that could be skipped, like excessive world-building descriptions. Thank you for such a captivating book that doesn’t allow itself to be put aside for later. Have you thought about a sequel? I think these two could spend an entire second book solving wedding preparation issues mixed with a new mysterious threat. Celine’s father could stir up some trouble, for example. The Queen is also intriguing; it couldn’t have been easy for her to live with someone she didn’t love. Not to mention the cool Inquisitor and the interesting Arden. P.S.: You are truly talented. I don’t have many authors on Booknet that I really “click” with. Clichés annoy me. But your books have their own unique gems. I’ve been reading your work for a long time, and I regret not leaving thanks for your previous books(( All the best!
alina-skintei08.01.2025, 22:22Oksana Hnatenko, I sincerely thank you for such warm and heartfelt words! Truly - a balm for the soul! I’m glad that you continue to stay with me! And I’m delighted that you liked the book! I haven’t thought about a sequel yet, and if there is something, it will probably be just a small bonus)))

lara-rosa28.12.2024, 13:36Wow!!! I definitely didn’t expect this! I even suspected the queen, but not him. What tension! I devoured the chapters in one go! I feel a bit sorry for Arden, but he shouldn’t have messed up - he should have fought for it! I take it this couple will now not only be magically bound?))) Great detective story, Alina! Tense and intricate! And the ending is truly mind-blowingly unexpected! I even started suspecting the chief inquisitor)))) Thanks for the emotions!!! Wishing you endless inspiration for new stories!!!
ira-ivanys28.12.2024, 14:10An incredibly intriguing book. With an unexpected ending, but very cool. Thank you

lara-rosa27.12.2024, 09:08The inquisitors risk their lives like sappers! Why is he so elusive? The palace is not a street; someone should have noticed something.
lara-rosa27.12.2024, 18:26Alina Skintei, And I feel it))
lara-rosa26.12.2024, 14:13Wow! The intrigue keeps growing! What is it really: a trap or a message?
