What I never justified about men is that when you give yourself to them, they are always selfish. With others, they fully experience their sexual life, but when the right one comes along, and after that a virgin, they deprive us of those experiences out of jealousy. As for Daniel's reaction and behavior regarding his ex, it bothers me no matter how many arguments he owes his loyalty to. In the story, you never clarify who were the ones that intimidated Akie.
