About the book

The action of the novel Perun's Horse mainly takes place in 1241, during the attack of the Mongols led by Batu Khan on Rus and, in particular, on Halych. But this is not a retelling of well-known events: the work is not limited to historical figures, but brings fantastic characters to the stage — werewolves, a house spirit, a witch, and the Ancient Gods. The undead and evil spirits have lived alongside humans since ancient times, helping or harming them. And the gods, as befits them, compete for control of the world and human souls. They stop at nothing. The plot of the novel also echoes Ivan Franko's story "Zakhary Berkut," because one of the characters is none other than Zakhary. As a young man, he went to a monastery to study, but on the way he met the goddess Morena and... became her
