About the book

During the mayoral candidate’s speech in the city’s main square, an explosion rang out. Investigator Oleksiy Pylypchuk is firmly convinced that the candidate’s assistant, Myroslava Zahorovska, is involved ‒ even though the girl has an alibi. Meanwhile, Myroslava discovers a set of mysterious runes hidden inside her late brother’s old record player ‒ runes that open a path to magical power. Through them, she learns of a bloody danger looming over the city. A ravenous monster, called a Mikmak, kills without mercy. Only Myroslava, with the help of the runes, a stray cat named Moonnie, and an unexpected alliance with the investigator Pylypchuk, has a chance to stop it. This is a story of loss, choice, and those who dare to go to the end ‒ even when the city has already turned its back on them.
