About the book

Relationships? Only platonic! Love and marriage? Never! Count Stotsky is a man with a dark past and a notorious seducer, and the owner of the hat salon is the only one who can help him escape his debts. Will there be room for love in the impregnable heart of this rake? - So, I shouldn't call you 'My darling'?" - Absolutely not. -'My sweet Natalie' is forbidden too? 'My beauty'? 'Sweet bun'?" - Stop it!" she moved threateningly towards her guest. - I understand you, Mademoiselle Viardo, don't pull out your weapon, or God forbid I'll see your shapely leg!"

A wonderfully twisted storyline with a happy ending. I was rooting for the main characters and their complicated relationship. I'm glad they managed to find and preserve their love. However, the errors in the text need to be worked on; the incorrect translation from Russian really spoils the reading experience.

There are a lot of mistakes, the text is not proofread. Nevertheless, the plot is veeery interesting and captivating. The count doesn't deserve such a wonderful woman. But love is blind...

Wonderful story! Such unexpected plot twists and such a sweet ending) It's just a pity for Mitskevych, after serving the punishment, an unpleasant surprise will be waiting for him. But as they say, first come, first served)

Very good story! It has everything: drama, passion, pleasant humor. Until the last page, I doubted whether the characters would end up together) Now it would be interesting to read a book about Pavlo. You’ve created a very charismatic character)

This was magnificent!!! A wonderful work that completely immerses the reader not just into the century before last, but engulfs them entirely. The characters are described with precision, the plot is well-thought-out, full of intrigues and mysteries. The language of the characters, their manners, facial expressions, and unique traits are perfectly crafted. The novel reads easily; it’s something to savor and enjoy. I stumbled upon this work quite by accident. My eyes caught the blog of Reed Cat (a rather peculiar pseudonym, in my opinion), but the blog had illustrations—extraordinary and TALENTED ones!!! Then came the cover—restrained yet tasteful, the word "educate," and the annotation. However, the work itself made me overlook certain flaws and simply enjoy the plot. THANK YOU! CREATE! Write and draw!!!

The era is almost flawlessly depicted in the style of 19th-century prose. Etiquette, gender relations, and attitudes toward the rights and duties of men and women, pogroms, the orphanage—everything is imbued with that time. And most importantly, it feels realistic: the count played before and continues to play, visited prostitutes before and still does. Whether the feeling that has arisen in him is truly love or just a hunt that captivated him and kept boredom at bay, only time will tell. And not letting a rival marry a woman who earns enough to cover her brother’s debts and provide him with money for entertainment with women was very clever))) The book is truly interesting, and I got immense pleasure from it.

I started reading the novel, expecting a light and cheerful story, but... It turned out that an ordinary womanizer and reveler is capable of such deep feelings! At first, he is driven only by lust, but over time, Stotsky truly falls in love. Until the very end, I was waiting to see who Natalie would give her hand and heart to, and her choice evokes very mixed feelings. On one hand, the lieutenant is the epitome of a man; on the other, his love hasn’t been tested by either time or rejection. Moreover, the soldier is prone to unexpected actions, like dueling for an actress. Stotsky’s love forced him to change and break away from his own "dark" side. And yet, in my opinion, the story has an open ending. Because, as we know, everything only begins with the wedding.

I follow the characters with great pleasure. So much passion and inner struggle in both of them. If it weren’t for Stotsky, Natali would have lived a monotonous, quiet life among hats and catalogs, but this love threw her into a real storm. Villains, especially handsome ones, have always attracted women. I’m very curious to see how the story ends.

Thank you for the wonderful characters, but Natalie made a mistake by saying "Yes" to the womanizer. Tell me, is there no second part planned?
