Kalashinkov
About the book
One bar. One mistake. One deal with the devil. Ruth thought she knew the dark side of the city, but when the mafia takes her best friend, she’s forced to turn to the one man she should run from: Dmitry. He’s cold, dangerous, and the only one who can navigate the underworld. As they descend into a web of violence and betrayal, the line between ally and enemy blurs. The air between them is electric, but in Dmitry's world, trust is a luxury—and passion is a trap. He isn't coming to save her. He's coming to take what's his.

aracely-pastrana05.04.2026, 19:11Following the chess analogy, Ruth is the Queen, the strongest, moving across the entire board and ruling the game when she comes out. Many is the knight, always moving three squares forward and backward (besides him, only the kings can do that) in all directions of the board, and Dmitri is the King, the most important piece but the most stressful in my opinion since his movements are limited to just one square. Lose the first two pieces I mentioned, and you lose the game. The king becomes prey.
dixie-cleopatra05.04.2026, 19:30Aracely Pastrana, @aracely Pastrana. You have perfectly captured the essence of Ruth as that unstoppable force and the unpredictable nature of Many. But remember something about chess... sometimes, a well-positioned pawn can change the fate of the King. I love your analogy. Truly, readers like you inspire me to keep going. Thanks a million!!!
