In my opinion, it's impossible to rape someone and then swear loyalty and build a happy family, especially since the girl was a virgin. I couldn't forgive something like that. I believe a girl's first time should be remembered with love and tenderness, not with rape near a cemetery. Well, he came up with something, then changed his mind, but the girl has already suffered a tremendous moral blow. To me, this is nonsense; this is just my personal opinion.

But the continuation (I read up to the goodbye at the cemetery and the not "romantic" first sex for Lizzy), it's HORROR, trash, Mike's clinic, Stockholm syndrome, and so on. I don't want to offend the author with this, because other works I've read I really liked. Probably, this just isn't for me.
