About the book

The citadel is on fire. A necromancer leads an army of the dead, and enemy spies are already inside the walls. For Artar and Karin, this war becomes personal: at stake is not only the fate of the world, but also the lives of their unborn children. While dragons burn the sky, another battle is unfolding on earth - between the proud traditions of the Vale and a true partnership. Can Karin prove that a submissive is not a weak-willed decoration, but a warrior equal to her dragon? And will their bond withstand the test of pain when the time comes to give birth in the chaos of battle? This is a story of blood, ashes and birth. Of children who will change the rules of the game, and of a daring choice that will make even the Dragon King doubt his own laws. An old age ends. A new one begins with

The best work of fantasy! This is just an incredibly atmospheric and engaging book that lingers in your thoughts even after finishing it.

Already 600 reads, congratulations! It's interesting to watch from the sidelines as something grows and develops. However, the number of pages is starting to scare me, but that's probably just my issue.

Cool, turns out I've already read half of it :) I only noticed this now, and by accident. My only request: don't kill Karin.

The world is gradually being revealed. That's good. I like that explanations about pairs and so on have finally started. This was really missing.

Bogdana reiderIt seems to me that this couple ended up in the same room the fastest :) Even though they are men, why should they suffer for no reason? Their physiology is simpler. Not on the first day - and that's already good :)

Again, the dialogues started mixing with the author's words... And for some reason, I got the impression that something is missing between chapters 4 and 5, just like between 1 and 2. The story lacks coherence. So, if I could rate the entire work, I would give it somewhere between 3.5-3.8 out of 5. Considering that this is the first major work with its own lore, the rating is quite decent for a debut. By the way, I will continue reading. So, my opinion might still change.

There are many questions regarding the laws of the world. Let's start with the main ones: 1. How are dragons domesticated? The book mentions wild dragons. So, were Artara, Astana, and Orion tamed by someone at some point? 2. What place do dragons generally occupy in the hierarchy? To become a rider, Karina had to pass an exam at the beginning, and then they were also entrusted with escorting the princess. So, does that mean they are the elite of society? And how is their society structured? And finally: I still don’t understand Artara. Judging by the synopsis, he should feel at least some sympathy for Karina. Maybe I’m rushing things. But so far, there’s no chemistry between them. In the first 4 chapters, I didn’t see even a hint that this sympathy might appear. If he starts flirting in chapters 5-6, then he’s definitely up to something, and we should expect a knife in the back from him. I don’t know. I hope to find answers to all these questions in the next chapters. For now, everything seems complicated and confusing.

Bogdana reiderWell, I didn’t drop it after the 3rd chapter :) That already says a lot, actually, if there’s a desire to figure out the laws of the world.

So far, it's not entirely clear how Artar feels about Karin and why he needs all of this in the first place. Let's see what happens next.

I finally started reading. It throws me off a bit that there are no indents before the start or end of dialogues. You're reading and reading a character's words, and then - bam! - suddenly it's the author's words. Usually, I don't care how dialogues are formatted. Let there be emojis before the lines for all I care. But please separate them clearly so it's easy to see.

The author masterfully weaves an intricate plot of the book, keeping the reader in a kind of anticipation until the very last page!

Bogdana reiderThis is one of Bulava's accounts. He usually doesn't read, just writes comments to draw attention to himself. So, no need to ask too many questions. As for me, I haven't read about Kyiv and don't know what's there.
