Abstract of the book "Don’t Mess with the Nerd"
At the glamorous Le Château Lumière restaurant, Amelia Foster — a nerdy secretary with crooked glasses and a silenced heart — keeps chaos under control while hiding an impossible love for her boss: Max Roux, charismatic… and engaged. But behind every flower and every “darling” lies a dangerous game. Max doesn’t flirt for love — he does it to protect secrets that could destroy everything: an impending bankruptcy, buried scandals, and a past that Amelia knows all too well. Can she resist him… when he’s already learned to need her? Or will her love become the price to save it all? A romantic comedy with the soul of a drama, where the invisible girl might become the unexpected heroine — or the final piece in a downfall no one saw coming.

jhon-amv04.12.2025, 01:00God, the protagonist's self-esteem is as high as the subsoil, you can feel how she tries to evoke pity while introducing herself.

alma22.11.2025, 16:05I didn't get past chapter 3, it feels very similar to the soap opera Ugly Betty, I don't know if you were inspired by it, but it didn't hook me.
sara-gonzalez21.11.2025, 11:08Sigh. That's what this book makes me do.
pepupis20.11.2025, 14:40I'm tempted to stop reading the book. You can be clumsy, but this is extreme. I read to entertain myself, not to suffer like this. Besides, it doesn't make much sense... you can be broke, a mess... but not cleaning the stain off the dress is just negligence, at the very least clean it at night. Since I like to be constructive, I think toning down the clumsiness a bit would be good, or, alternatively, not pushing the clothing issue to such an extreme. She could wear another poorly matched or ugly dress, but not the same one, especially since her mother is a seamstress. I also want to highlight that I’m enjoying the vocabulary and it’s well-written. The book looks promising, and I’m eager to see how it evolves.
antonia-garcia10.11.2025, 18:42I always like stories that end with them together, but I have to admit that I liked how this story ended because he doesn't deserve her. Thanks for sharing.
malua-katerine-aguilar26.10.2025, 23:12I think the story is good, but it has an incredible similarity to a novel called Betty la Fea. I hope that's not the case and the story has its own soul.
