Abstract of the book "Catharsis for Two Souls"
Anthony Luksic believes he has it all: power, success, and a heart of steel. Until Danielle walks into his life and disarms him without even trying. She forces him to question everything, even himself. And while he discovers he was never truly alone, she learns to heal what life once denied her. Together, without promises, they risk the only thing that can change everything: to truly feel. "As if the Grinch discovered he had a heart… and that it beats for someone." All Rights Reserved ©

yany-gatitos26.11.2022, 05:41I read the story to understand the writer's perspective on religion, agnosticism, and atheism, but I don't understand the purpose of mentioning two influential atheists in history like Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche only to later discredit atheism. I thought it would try to validate their respective thoughts and encourage that, although we think differently, we can live in peace, but it was quite the opposite. It discredited those who think differently from religion and showed intolerance by not understanding that not everyone thinks the same, and that must be respected and lived with; no one knows for sure what happens after death. Oh, and the writer should better read the meaning of objective morality because definitely, religion, whichever it may be, lacks that, and the best example is their sacred books and the doctrines of the churches.
sunny-black02.12.2022, 21:40Yany Gatitos, (sorry, it didn't fit in just one comment) The male main character understands that beyond intellect, one must accept what others think, but in the end, what matters is how you translate that with yourself and with your peers. If he ended up accepting something, that doesn’t mean he is a religious or fanatical man about it, or as you say, that he discredits those who don’t think like him. That never happens at any point. He deeply admires those philosophers you mention (if you read it well, you’ll know, plus he mentions objective morality for the same obvious reasons). In other words, he simply found a way to express his need for connection with the divine; that was his way of understanding it. Greetings and thanks for commenting ;)
