Abstract of the book "Call Sign “Mavka”, or 4.5.0"
Oresta is jolted awake by explosions. From the news, she learns that a full-scale war has broken out in her country. Together with her fiancé, she hurriedly packs her things and leaves for her parents’ village on the edge of the Kyiv region. By afternoon, Arkadiy tells her he’s leaving for Italy to join his parents. He asks Oresta to come with him, but she refuses to leave her home under any circumstances. She hopes her refusal will make him stay, but instead, he walks away. Throwing herself into the work at the local volunteer center led by her father and the military, Oresta finds herself facing challenges she never imagined. The work is tough, demanding as much from her as from any man.

So we read it as if it’s about our relatives, and we understand all the emotions the characters are going through, because, probably, there isn’t a single family in Ukraine right now that hasn’t been touched by the war..

While reading the book, there were a few more flashbacks with tears and reflections. But overall, I am very grateful to you for a wonderful novel that is easy to read, for the characters who, despite the war (or perhaps because of it), found each other, who live in the moment and enjoy it. I would really love a continuation of this love story, with a miracle - a child born to Dmytro and Oresta, because life goes on, even though, unfortunately, the war continues as well. But everything will be Ukraine.
